Paul van Wierst

Journey through the realms of the Celtic tradition to meet it's supernatural keepers. Explore what it means to be offered the Sword from the Otherworld, from the Goddess, from Avalon, and the world of the ancient Gods of the sea.

Paul van Wierst

Paul van Wierst was born in Indonesia, where he lived the first years of his life and where he got his taste for magic and mysticism. After completing his education at the Amsterdam Rietveld Academy Paul has been a working artist for over 35 years and a teacher in Art and Design for more than 25 years.

Paul's skills combine in his special interest in the art of making power objects. He believes that the pleasure of making a magical item of power does not only come from the craft itself, but also from the meditative nature of the work and the ritualistic processes. His work as an artist is mainly earth orientated, although esoteric subjects do crop up on occasion. Paul says that all his landscapes do however have some hidden element of ‘quietness’ about them. Paul has also designed his own Tarot deck.

Paul is not connected to any official school of magic, but he does have a very broad knowledge of different brands of magic and the divinatory arts. His friends and colleagues call him a walking encyclopedia. For the last 25 years he has been giving courses in tarot and astrology. He also works in a Dutch esoteric group with Joan and others, and has worked as the craft facilitator in the Celtic Hallows Workshops since 2002 with Helene and Joan in both the UK and the Netherlands.
